"Morrigan Prince. I'm afraid I'm too busy to answer at the moment, but leave a message and I promise to respond as soon as I'm able."

[He sends a rough approximation of where to meet, a landmark of tidepools, the same one's he's used in the past for his candleglow ceremonies. It was certainly private enough.
He flies there, for his part, his wings still out and folded against his back by the time Morrigan arrives, if he was asking the other man to bring his cards to the table, Chris could do no less.
When he sees Morrigan, he greets him with an earnest smile and a wave.]
Sorry, know it's a small trek, happy to clean the sand from you afore we leave, but I know this place's safe from anything undesired.

He smiles and nods at Chris when he gets close enough.]
Not at all. You did offer somewhere closer, after all. But this does seem safer.
Now. What sort of information are we talking about?

Garden-verity, really, just breaking into whatever main government building we think might be housing either the device that brings us here or it's schematics. Or maybe the one that controls some of our powers.
[He looks back at Morrigan with same smile, but with a glint of determination in his eyes. Light as his tone might be, he's entirely serious.]
On a smaller scale, perhaps even just hints or signs at the city's infrastructure: ledgers, orders, a central hub of portals that might link to more cities aside the two we know, something to clue-in how they make this place run.

I see. It's not the first time I've been asked to do something like this, actually. Though not for this particular line of inquiry.

[He puts a hand to his chest.] I'm no rogue, but learned a trick or two from my sister and boyfriend back home, I can be quiet. I've also got some magic to help conceal and avoid as well as these, as needed. [The wings at his back flex and flutter to demonstrate.]
I do intend to go with you, but I'll follow your word to the letter on what we do and how we do it with only one stipulation set: should things go wrong in a way we can see coming, you're to slip out with every trick you've got and any information we've gathered.

I prefer not to leave partners behind, but...yes, understood.
You said 'whatever main government building'. Is part of the operation determining which target to strike?
no subject
Your honor's not under any question, my friend, it's....[phrasing-] logistics and assurance. Someone's got to get what information we might find out or it'll surely be confiscated in a capture. [And that was definitely the only reason.]
And you'd be right for the rest as well, I've no exact location in mind other than likely in the Up. As Jon pointed out, not likely to have so important a place at risk of the gang activity in the Down. Unfortunately, I'm not even certain I can speak to the size we're looking for. If any amount of magic might be involved, it could appear small and be the size of a city on it's own inside.

At the very least, I can rule out a building or two. Did you have a particular time in mind to strike? The last two operations I was involved in were timed around Tumenalia so as to avoid consequences but I do wonder if that led to our not finding as much as we could.

I'd rather avoid hinging anything on the actual week. I know I just missed this last year's, but the one before, one I attended did its shaking. I don't want to try this while someone's not fully in it.
That said...a big celebration like that's bound ot have preparations and the crunch of deadlines needing met. Just before might be helpful. Near-round the time new people get brought in. Might be less likely to get noticed in the orderly chaos of party planning.

That's a very good idea.
[He'd never actually been a part of the planning process for the last two jobs he did, merely someone brought on to do the work.]
And they're much more likely to have valuable information to steal if they don't think anyone is going to break in at that time.
no subject
Oh, sure, a file box put aside, records moved temporarily. People are people and they make mistakes.
He has a thought, then that causes the smile to fade into an expression of consideration.]
I wonder...if we're doing this just afore Tumenalia, that's truly just afore when there's occasion to see some switching designations, yes? Typically, anyway, seems to happen most often in summer and winter. For all the files to vanish or switch over, that has to take time. Wonder if we might stumble across a list somewhere while we're at it. Mabe some light on the decision process.
[His fingers come up to brush against his jaw, but he shakes his head.]
It's not so much a priority over the rest we'll be looking for, but something to keep in thought, maybe.
