I'm only planning to stay long enough to be polite. Dr. McCoy still seems to be under the mistaken impression we're friends. I respect the work he's doing. I plan to attend for that.
[ When Morrigan next checks the mail at his apartment, there's an inexpertly wrapped gift waiting for him. Inside the brown paper is a soft leather roll that could be easily stuck in a boot or interior pocket. It contains a handsome set of brass lockpicks, each one with a little crown stamped on the handle end.
Also included is a small note in Wolfe's steady if sloped handwriting. ]
Happy Satinalia, to the only Prince whose position I care to recognize.
[A delivery appears for Peter, accompanied by a note:]
Dear Morrigan -
Tonight is supposed to be the longest, darkest night. When the sun comes up in the morning, the days will get longer from then on. You are one of the lights in my life, my dear. You are one of the people who make the winter bearable.
Always, Jamie
[In the package:]
- An underbust corset - Shoes - A small potted plant of blooming honeysuckle growing on a little trellis with a note that says: For the affection and devotion you have from me. It won't die, I promise.
[Peter's house is Jon's first stop on Christmas day when he's out delivering presents. There's a nice envelope atop the box he leaves for the other man. The package is wrapped in shiny silver paper and contains a few items:
Some very fancy teas;
A set of earrings that look like little silver stiletto knives;
A bottle that looks like it's from the Supermarket in Insincerity called 'Now You Don't See Me' and promises one hour of invisibility; and
An ornate-looking key.
The letter reads as follows:]
Dear Morrigan,
Thank you for keeping me close this year through every trial and hardship. My door is always open to you. That key is a master for my house and the Switch Street building. Use it whenever you need it.
It doesn't take Peter very long to bypass the code on the doors - the system is hardly designed for master thieves, only ordinary ones - and push them open just a hair.
Then it's time to retrieve Amelia.
He approaches the pair of guards from behind perfectly silently. As he comes up on them, he does hear the tail end of what the male guard has in store for Amelia and - while holding eye contact with Amelia - tips his head towards him with a gesture of his hand at the same time at her. The man is hers to handle. (Though Peter does mouth "incapacitate", hoping and trusting that Amelia will understand that he doesn't want a fatality.) When she indicates her understanding, Peter nods and holds up three fingers. Two.
One.
None. He's slipping up behind the woman, wrapping one arm around her midsection and a hand around her throat, compressing sharply.

I'll owe you a significant favor.
And kisses.
An astronomical amount of kisses.
[He sends along the invitation.]

The fact that this is something like the last time they were intimate is....touching, in a way. Peter smiles and nods, giving Jon another kiss.
"I think that sounds very nice. And of course, whatever you're comfortable with."
