[Jon comes along easily, but his brows furrow at Peter's words.]

Did you not want to be with him, then? He seemed... well, I mean he's been mooning over you since he left, hasn't he?

[Jon realizes he shouldn't actually know that.]

I-I... expect.

Has he?

[One of Peter's eyebrows are raised. It isn't that he doesn't get the sense that Juno still has some sort of feelings about him. Juno had admitted to missing him. But missing him and "mooning over" him are two slightly different things. And he also can't entirely imagine Juno admitting that to a perfect stranger.]

[Jon glances off to one side, shoulders tensing with guilt.]

It certainly... seems that way.

[That's hardly a subtle reaction and Peter starts to get a better picture of what might have happened.]

He told you that?

Yes.

[Technically.]

I... might have compelled him. It was an accident, and he punched me, so it's- we're even.

[Peter leads Jon over to the sofa, sitting down and continuing to look at him with curiosity. Though it is now tinged with a bit of a look.]

You compelled him on the subject of....his feelings for me?

[It's an interesting subject....]

[Jon let's himself be led, and settles next to Peter, still not quite looking the other man in the eye.]

No... sort of? We were talking about you and he didn't seem convinced you'd want to see him. I said you cared about him and asked if he still cared about you.

Things just... spilled out. He, uh... said he hasn't stopped thinking about you since he left. And he regrets giving you up for a lie. I didn't entirely understand that, but he wasn't keen on follow-up questions.

["He regrets giving you up for a lie". Well. That's something, isn't it? Peter looks contemplative for a moment, a little bit indrawn. Not that it changes things, not really. But it's....good to hear.]

No, I can't imagine he would be. [Peter sounds surprisingly nonchalant about the news now.] And I'm afraid I don't completely know the answer either.

[He should have listened to more of Juno's apology.]

Right.

[Peter's general lack of reaction to this news is confusing. Jon really would have expected... well, he's not sure. Upset? Joy? More visceral emotions. But then, Peter's not generally given to overt dramatics unless it's to make a point or for a part. He's too guarded for that.

Without somewhere else to take that part of the conversation, he digs his phone out of his pocket and flips to photos.]

Uh... this is what I wanted to show you, by the way.

[It's a design of a magpie grasping a rose.]

I thought- I keep thinking about having the eye tattoos I got a while ago covered over with... something else. I was looking through designs and thought you might like this one?

[Ah, that is interesting. Peter leans in, looking faintly surprised. A magpie and a rose. The connotations don't escape him.]

For you? I think it's lovely.

[There's just a hint of a smile on his face.]

I'll probably get it up on my shoulder. That's the biggest one. I was thinking about what to do with the others. Just limit the number of eyes Elias has available to look out of from me and all that. Flowers seemed like they'd easiest, if there's anything else you like. Or... other suggestions?

I think you'd look very handsome covered in flowers.

[Peter's voice is warm, approving. But Jon did ask for suggestions as well...]

Perhaps a star or two?

[Stars for a man who would like so much to sail off and away into them. Jon turns and leans toward Peter, setting down his phone so that he can reach up to gently caress the other man's cheek. His voice drops to a deeper purr.]

Is this where I say something disgustingly romantic like, 'Why would I need stars when I can see them in your eyes?'

[They haven't solved the situation with Juno, but that's not something Jon thinks he'll be able to figure out in a single day, if he's even wanted for it at all. Peter seems to have the situation in hand. For now. At least he's faking it well enough that Jon can't see any obvious distress. So, Jon can focus on something else, like making sure Peter knows for certain that someone will tell them they love him clearly and often.]

You could if you'd like.

[There's a hint of amusement to Peter's tone. But there's also a terribly fond look on his face, a warmth in his eyes at the way Jon is touching him, talking to him. For a moment, even, his eyes slide shut and he leans in to the touch.

He could, perhaps, be happier. But right now, in this moment, it doesn't matter quite as much. He is very content.]

[Delivered sometime between the solstice and Christmas, a few boxes for Morrigan, all bound together with a white ribbon:

a top, lip color, and what looks like a page torn from a book.

[It's tempting to ask what about him. Had Chris told Peter about what happened? Maybe it's better to get out ahead of that. Would Peter be upset? Jon hadn't really intended to start a scene with Chris. It had just sort of happened.

Well, no. He wouldn't be saying Chris was a good friend if he was upset, would he? Wouldn't have a positive opinion.]

[He sends a rough approximation of where to meet, a landmark of tidepools, the same one's he's used in the past for his candleglow ceremonies. It was certainly private enough.

He flies there, for his part, his wings still out and folded against his back by the time Morrigan arrives, if he was asking the other man to bring his cards to the table, Chris could do no less.

When he sees Morrigan, he greets him with an earnest smile and a wave.]
